Why I Should See a Doctor for a Preconception Checkup
Why consult a doctor before having a baby? It's a question that many partners wonder about. Today, I'd like to summarize the answer for parents to relieve their worries and doubts.
There are 3 main.
- The checkup will help your doctor plan and make sure that your body is ready for pregnancy. If any symptoms or illnesses are found, they should be treated before pregnancy.
- You should receive a screening test for sexually transmitted diseases (HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B) because they can pose serious health risks to you and your baby during pregnancy.
- The most important aspect of the checkup is to screen for any genetic diseases that have never been diagnosed in both partners and may be passed down to your baby. Therefore, the screening test will help prevent new genetic disorders in families.
