Why I Should See a Doctor for a Preconception Checkup
Why Consult a Doctor Before Having a Baby?
It’s a question that many couples often wonder about. Today, I’d like to summarize the answer to help parents relieve their worries and doubts.
There are three main reasons:

-
A preconception checkup helps your doctor plan and ensure that your body is ready for pregnancy. Any symptoms or illnesses detected should be treated before conception.
-
Screening for sexually transmitted infections (such as HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B) is recommended, as these infections can pose serious health risks to both you and your baby during pregnancy.
-
One of the most important aspects of the checkup is genetic screening. This can identify previously undiagnosed genetic conditions in both partners that could be passed on to your baby, helping to prevent hereditary disorders in the family.
